Besides being environmentally correct, drawing new projects on computers, and giving talks on sustainability and energy issues, I just have to get my hands in the mud. I picked up the colored concrete bug living in Santa Fe New Mexico for 13 years. Colored concrete counter tops, decorative and playful concrete floors, and other house hold architectural features keep me grounded as an artist and craftsman. The slabs are cast in molds upside down in my shop and then shipped out and installed. We can work directly from plans, but I prefer to template if possible. The maximum size per slab is usually about 2' X 8', but we have poured them much larger. Take for example the 2 tone, 1,200 lbs Tyrannosaurus Rex Scull cast that we made In conjunction with Artist/Scientist Michael Holland, for the local "Dinosaur Park."
