From 1958 to 1988 I was a teacher of art (while still producing my own work). Since my retirement in 1988, I have worked steadily in my studio in Sebastopol, Ca., focusing exclusively on my own work, which continues to evolve. I work in wood, clay, marble, alabaster, and soapstone as well as in bronze.
These bronze bears are the beginning of new direction in my work. I am planning a new series of sculptures in which I will continue to explore and develop other animal forms.
